The Lucky Ones is one of four finalists for the New-York Historical Society Children's History Book Prize! I had never heard of this prize until I received the news. Here is a link to the interview: Interview: Linda Williams Jackson
I am excited! And I hope you are too!
Today, I also found out that The Lucky Ones is one of 45 books selected by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association as the Best Kids’ Books written by African American authors in 2022. Five of the 45 books were written by Memphis area writers: Alice Faye Duncan (two books on the list), Erica Martin, Kathlyn Kirkwood, and myself (honorary Memphian). I feel like Memphis is the “Brooklyn” of the Midsouth! Go, Memphis!
Happy reading, everyone!
Sooooooo wonderful!
Congrats, Linda! So exciting!
